Our Story – Why We Built This Platform

About four years ago, our daughter got married. Unfortunately, within six weeks, the marriage ended. It was a difficult and painful       experience for our entire family. Since then, my wife and I have been navigating the Shidduch process alongside her—something that has     brought both its own challenges and deep reflection.

Along the way, we came to a realization: we’re not alone. So many others—singles, parents, and Shadchanim alike—are also struggling   within a system that, while well-meaning, can often feel confusing, overwhelming, or isolating.

That’s why, about a year and a half ago, we began building a website designed to make the Shidduch process easier and more supportive—for   both singles and Shadchanim.

What started as a tool for matchmaking has since evolved into something much more comprehensive:

  • A respectful, confidential platform for connecting shidduchim
  • Resources and guidance on dating with sensitivity and clarity
  • Information on dating spots and minyanim across North America and Israel
  • A calendar of planned events and gatherings to support social opportunities
  • An upcoming “chizuk in tefillah” section, including special tefillos, a “Daven for Me / Daven for You” exchange, and more

We’ve worked hard to make the site frum, heimish, tznius, and above all—a place of comfort and support.

This platform is built not just from technology, but from empathy, Tefillah, and a desire to help others navigate the same journey we’ve been     on.

May it be a source of Bracha for many.

  Gila Katz – Administrator
B”H I am blessed to be married, a proud mother, and a passionate teacher of young children. My own journey through the Shidduch system     was not without its challenges, and that experience gave me a deep empathy for singles navigating it today. Being part of Shidduch Central is   more than a role — it’s a mission close to my heart. I’m honored to help both singles and Shadchanim with technical support, guidance, and   feedback, and to contribute to an initiative that brings hope, connection, and the possibility of building beautiful futures together.
